Tell us about yourself and what you do?

My name is Johnny Lee Davis and I work for Rubicon Landscape Group in Richmond. I do take care of the trash route at parks in the city in Pleasanton.

What has your experience been like at Rubicon?

My journey has been amazing.  Basically, I didn’t have a job. I had a little baby and I had to not work. I sacrificed myself to take care of him until he got to school. Right when I dropped him off, I went straight to Rubicon and I signed up for the classes. I joined in and they helped me build my résumé. They helped set me up with skills and resources that I didn’t know that I could use or had. They helped me get my forklift certification and my OSHA certification and pay for all that. They drove me to these places to get all of that.

Have you enjoyed your journey since joining Rubicon Landscape Group?

I got in with the Rubicon Landscape group and everything has been good for me.

Everybody at the job from the top to the bottom have been outstanding. They are people that want to see you, speak to you, and “hello, how are you doing? We talk about sports, a lot family, and it’s a good place to work.

Rubicon Landscape Group is everywhere. They do work at Treasure Island, Livermore, Palo Alto, and other locations.

I like to do my job! I like being outside in the fresh air. My supervisor knows that I care about the business and you know, I just I get my job done. I’ll call him and say have a nice day.

Any last message to those considering a career at Rubicon Landscape Group?

Hopefully, everything works out for you and you’ll take the opportunity and chance to uplift yourself up with your family and move forward in life because that’s what it’s about.

It’s about trying to get out of poverty yourself so stay with positive as I do and look forward to going to work every day. Going to work, being reliable and stay sharp so you can work your way up. I appreciate everybody. Thank you Rubicon Landscape and all my mentors for all the support!
